2. Candidate Statement
I am honored to seek election as ASAM Director-at-Large and humbly offer my eclectic and
synergistic experience to strengthen an already amazing organization.
My perspective is shaped by depth of service as a double board-certified addiction medicine physician and neurologist; addiction medicine Medical Director; MBA-trained, certified healthcare business consultant formerly with Ernst & Young; former Chief Operating Officer and Director of Strategy for a multistate physician group; investment/financial advisor; and member of a digital health/AI medical advisory board. I also serve on ASAM’s Finance Council and Philanthropy Task Force, am CSAM Treasurer, Executive Committee member, and Finance Committee Chair, and have advocated for ASAM’s legislative priorities on Capitol Hill.
One of my main goals is to remain very active with my state chapter and strengthen collaboration and synergy between ASAM and all state chapters. If elected, I will remain equally engaged with CSAM to facilitate bidirectional communication, align national and local priorities, share resources, and ensure chapter perspectives inform Board decisions. Strong state-national partnerships can enhance advocacy, workforce development, education, and access to evidence-based care.
I will bring practical financial, operational, clinical, and technological insight to advance ASAM’s strategic priorities. In particular, I believe in advancing safe and ethical use of AI in healthcare that protects and advances the interests of both physicians and patients. I would be grateful for the opportunity to serve ASAM and respectfully ask for your vote.
