Terms of Service

  • Officers serve two-year terms.
  • Directors-at-Large serve four-year-terms.

 

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates for the ASAM Board of Directors are expected to demonstrate a commitment to ASAM’s mission and the field of addiction medicine, along with the leadership experience and qualifications appropriate for Board service.

Candidates should:

  • Be ASAM voting members in good standing
  • Demonstrate leadership experience within ASAM or other professional organizations
  • Bring a collaborative mindset and commitment to ASAM's mission
  • Demonstrate commitment to ASAM's mission through annual personal financial support and engagement in fundraising efforts

*Voting members may hold elected offices except Retired and Provisional members.
